Randon, a company that is part of Randoncorp, was awarded the 51st Prêmio Exportação RS for its significant performance in the international market in 2022. The award ceremony took place this Thursday, August 17, at Casa NTX in Porto Alegre.
The largest manufacturer of semi-trailers in Latin America and one of the largest in the world, Randon received the award in the International Branding Highlight category. The record growth in revenue in the international market in 2022 and the leadership in export market share, with 62% of the total, are some of the key indicators that secured the leadership in this category. Last year, Randon sold approximately 6,000 units to the international market. This number represents a nearly 40% growth compared to 2021. The increase is primarily explained by the company’s entry into the United States, both through semi-trailer sales and the acquisition of the American manufacturer Hercules Chassis, as explained by Sandro Trentin, COO of Randoncorp’s Vertical Assembly.
“The acquisition of Hercules Chassis and the subsequent entry into the largest semi-trailer market in the West is a key move in executing our sustainable growth strategy, expanding our international presence and enhancing synergies. Furthermore, we introduced innovative and disruptive products that go far beyond what already exists in the market and feature new production concepts, such as modularization,” highlights the executive, who received the award on behalf of the company.
Another factor that strengthens Randon’s privileged position in the international arena is the volume of sales to South American countries, benefiting from the strong agricultural sector. This led to a 64.7% increase in revenues from international markets. This is the 10th time the company has received the Prêmio Exportação.
Personality of International Competitiveness
During the 51st Prêmio Exportação, the president of Randoncorp, Daniel Randon, was honored with the 2023 International Competitiveness Personality award. This category annually recognizes the business or professional leadership in foreign trade who has taken actions to promote the inclusion of Brazilian products in the global market.
President of the company since 2019, Randon intensified Randoncorp’s ESG agenda, with initiatives related to Governance, Innovation, and Environment, and boosted innovation efforts through projects and investments that cover everything from cultural transformation to industrial processes in the company’s Brazilian and international units. “More than a personal honor, being recognized by the Prêmio Exportação RS, promoted by ADVB/RS, a respected organization I hold in high regard, is also a recognition of our efforts in the internationalization agenda. The global advancement of Randoncorp, supported by market diversification and innovation with sustainability, is one of our priorities for the coming years,” explains Randon.
Promoted by the Association of Marketing and Sales Directors of Brazil (ADVB/RS), the Prêmio Exportação RS is the greatest recognition in Southern Brazil for the export sector, listing companies with the best market results and strategies in international markets in 2022.
